At Mabusi PAG Church, Mugabe Explains Why He Backs Ruto Amid Shifting Western Politics
Likuyani Member of Parliament Hon. Innocent Maino Mugabe on Sunday, 30th August 2026, defended his support for President William Ruto while speaking at a church service and fundraiser at Mabusi PAG Church in Nzoia Ward.
The MP listed several projects he said have been made possible under the current administration:
The Matunda–Kona Junction road has already been awarded a contractor.
The Furfural–Kosoki–Mawe Tatu road is undergoing upgrade to bitumen standards.
Likuyani was selected for a County Industrial Park in Sinoko, with construction ongoing.
The Likuyani Magistrate Court is expected to be ready in the next two months.
Mugabe also spoke about his earlier political struggles before ODM joined the broad-based government:
“Before ODM iwe broad-based, nilikuwa nahangaika barabarani, navaa sufuria kwa kichwa. Nilikuwa najua nitabadilisha Likuyani, lakini nikitafuta network sipati kabisa.”
He told the congregation that the current partnership has opened doors for development in Likuyani.
Questions on the ground:
With a significant number of youths in Likuyani not openly supporting Ruto, why has the MP chosen this path?
As the political environment in Western Kenya continues shifting towards the Linda Mwananchi / Sifuna wave, how will Mugabe navigate the coming political contest?
Will the listed projects be enough to convince residents who feel development has been slow?
Can the MP maintain his current position as the 2027 race intensifies?
The remarks come at a time when political realignments in the region are becoming more visible.
Stay informed. Stay ahead.
