Farouk Kibet Tips Mugabe for Budget Committee Chair
President William Ruto’s close ally Farouk Kibet has endorsed Likuyani Member of Parliament Hon. Innocent Maino Mugabe for a senior role in the next Parliament.
Speaking on 11th September 2026 during a Boda Boda groups empowerment drive in Endebess Constituency, Trans Nzoia County, Farouk said Mugabe is capable of chairing the powerful Budget Committee if he secures a second term.
“Anatosha kuwa Chairman wa Budget. Akirudi Bunge awamu ya pili, huku Wetang’ula akiendelea kung’aa, huyu kijana anatosha kuwa Chairman wa Budget,” Farouk said.
The Budget Committee is one of the most influential committees in the National Assembly, overseeing the national budget and allocation of public resources.
Farouk’s remarks are being viewed as a strong vote of confidence in Mugabe within Kenya Kwanza circles, coming at a time when the Likuyani MP has been ranking highly in recent performance surveys, including 11th nationally and 2nd in Kakamega County in the Swiss Poll Champions of Progress Award 2026.
