Governor Flop → Likuyani MP Pretender → Now Senate Dreamer? Kidake Alex Malova’s Latest Political Shift
Likuyani/Nangili – Alex Kidake Malova has changed political direction once again.
After suffering a humiliating loss in the 2022 Vihiga gubernatorial race, Malova relocated to his residence in Nangili, Likuyani and publicly declared his intention to contest the Likuyani MP seat. On his “Kidake Insights” Facebook page he repeatedly promoted the “Kidake Millers” project — a grand plan for food production, animal feeds and organic juices that he claimed would create jobs and transform the area.
Today, with no visible progress on the much-hyped Kidake Millers project, Malova has abandoned the Likuyani MP race and declared his bid for the Vihiga County Senator seat in 2027.
Residents in Nangili and Likuyani are reacting with disappointment.
“He came here after losing for governor, fed us stories about Kidake Millers and Chinese partners, then jumped ship again,” said one local anonymously. “Where is the mill? Where are the jobs he promised?”
