“Account for KSh 72 Billion” – Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera Takes on Kakamega Governor Barasa
Lugari – Lugari MP Hon. Nabii Nabwera has issued a strong message to Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, telling him to account for KSh 72 billion received from the National Government.
In a Facebook post, Nabwera stated:
“It is a tragedy for one to be short in body and also in vision. Short-sightedness cannot be cured by running around surrounded by goons and issuing threats. Let Barasa Fernedez be advised that he must account for 72 Billions so far received from National Govt.
Am ready for you. Parliamentary business cannot be canvassed in rallies but in the designated chambers. One ECDE is not worthy the noise. Give us a break.”
The post appears to be directed at Governor Barasa (and possibly Deputy Governor Savula), amid ongoing political tensions in Kakamega County.
Questions on the ground:
What exactly is the KSh 72 billion referred to, and has the Governor accounted for it?
Are these public spats helping or hurting service delivery in Kakamega County?
Should county leaders focus more on development than political exchanges?
This latest exchange highlights the heated political environment in Kakamega as we approach the 2027 elections.
Likuyani Digest will continue monitoring county leadership matters affecting residents.
