Mugabe Endorses Ruto-Wetangula Succession Plan
Likuyani Member of Parliament Hon. Innocent Mugabe has openly declared support for a long-term political arrangement between President William Ruto and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.
Speaking on Saturday, 29th August 2026, during a Women Groups Empowerment drive in Saboti Constituency, Trans Nzoia County, Mugabe praised Wetangula as “Papa wa Roma” who sees far and understands where Kenya is heading.
He credited the partnership between Ruto and Wetangula for the development now reaching Western Kenya and Trans Nzoia, including the ongoing tarmacking of the Furfural–Kosoki–Mawe Tatu road in Likuyani.
Mugabe said:
“Kwa mara ya kwanza ametusaidia tumeanza kupata maendeleo Trans Nzoia na mkoa wa Magharibi… Ni Papa wa Roma wakishirikiana na Ruto ndio wanaleta.”
He called on residents to maintain friendship with Rift Valley and said after the 2027 elections, they will move across the country with Wetangula.
The MP’s remarks are being interpreted as an open endorsement of a succession plan: Ruto in 2027, Wetangula in 2032.
