Mugabe: Uhuru’s Big 4 Agenda Collapsed, Ruto Is Correcting It
Likuyani Member of Parliament Hon. Innocent Maino Mugabe has strongly criticised former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big 4 Agenda, saying it failed to deliver on its key promises.
Speaking during a Women Empowerment drive in Vihiga Constituency on 31st August 2026, Mugabe said Uhuru’s administration had four main pillars — food security, manufacturing, universal healthcare and affordable housing — but failed in all of them.
He claimed that under President William Ruto, the situation has changed:
Affordable housing projects are now visible, including in Vihiga.
The price of fertiliser was reduced from KSh 7,500 to KSh 2,500, and has now been brought down further to KSh 2,000.
Previously, major hospitals were only constructed in one region of the country. Now, he said, big hospitals are being built in different parts of Kenya.
Mugabe argued that the current administration is spreading development more evenly compared to the previous regime.
Questions on the ground:
Ruto served in Uhuru’s government for many years. Why were these issues not addressed during that period?
Is the reduction in fertiliser prices sustainable, or is it a temporary political move?
Are the affordable housing and hospital projects evenly distributed, or still concentrated in certain areas?
Will this message of “Uhuru failed, Ruto is delivering” convince residents in Western Kenya ahead of 2027?
Stay informed. Stay ahead.
