Matunda Junction–Kona Mbaya–Brigadier Road Handed Over to Contractor
Likuyani Member of Parliament Hon. Innocent Maino Mugabe on Thursday, 15th October 2026, handed over the Matunda Junction–Kona Mbaya–Brigadier road to the contractor.
The project is expected to improve transportation and open up better market access for residents of Matunda Municipality and surrounding areas.
According to the MP, President William Ruto is scheduled to commission the road after Mashujaa Day.
The handover marks a key step in the implementation of the long-awaited upgrade, which residents have been pushing for to ease movement of people and goods, especially agricultural produce.
Once completed, the road is expected to boost local trade, reduce transport costs and support the growth of Matunda as a key commercial hub in Likuyani Constituency.
