Champions League Returns as Elections Approach
Nzoia Ward MCA Hon. Collins Sifuna Chapurukha has announced the return of the Nzoia Ward Champions League for its second edition.
The first edition was held during his first year in office. Now, in his fourth year and with the next election cycle approaching, the tournament is being revived.
Registration is free, and the league will also feature four ladies’ teams — one from each sublocation. It is expected to run from early September to December.
While the return of the tournament has been welcomed by some, questions are already emerging on the ground:
Why did it take this long to organise the second edition?
Where was the league in the second and third years?
Is the timing connected to the coming political season?
Sports initiatives are important for the youth, but consistency matters. Residents will be watching to see whether this becomes a regular programme or remains an election-time activity.
Stay informed. Stay ahead.
