Oparanya Fighting for Mulembe Kingmanship? Natembeya, Sifuna, Weta or Mudavadi – Mugabe Conspicuously Missing
Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and who is currently serving as the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) held a breakfast consultative meeting with Members of Parliament from the Western Caucus, where discussions centred on cooperatives, coffee revitalization, MSMEs and — crucially — the political direction of the Mulembe Nation.
In his Facebook post, Oparanya emphasised “unity, strategic positioning and safeguarding the region’s collective interests”.
However, the conspicuous absence of Likuyani MP Mugabe from the meeting has raised eyebrows. While Oparanya, Natembeya, Sifuna and other heavyweights appear to be positioning themselves in the Mulembe leadership race, Mugabe was nowhere to be seen — a move many interpret as him cementing his place as the UDA front-runner in the region.
Residents of Likuyani and the wider Western region are now left asking who is really fighting for the Mulembe kingmanship and whose interests are being protected.
Questions on the Ground:
Is Oparanya quietly positioning himself as the next Mulembe kingpin?
Why were Natembeya, Sifuna and other heavyweights in the room while Likuyani MP Mugabe was conspicuously missing?
Is this breakfast meeting part of a bigger power play between Oparanya, Natembeya, Sifuna, Weta or Mudavadi?
How will this “Mulembe unity” talk actually benefit ordinary Likuyani farmers, traders and youth on the ground?
