JKUAT Wafula Wabuge TVET Centre Groundbreaking Held
A major milestone in education was marked in Likuyani Constituency on Tuesday, 13th October 2026, with the groundbreaking ceremony for the JKUAT Wafula Wabuge TVET Centre.
The event was presided over by the Principal Secretary for Higher Education and Research, Dr. Beatrice Inyangala.
According to Likuyani MP Hon. Innocent Maino Mugabe, the project fulfils President William Ruto’s commitment of KSh 100 million towards its construction.
The TVET Centre will offer training in Agriculture, Engineering and ICT, equipping young people with technical and digital skills. It is also expected to stimulate local economic growth, create employment opportunities and provide a skilled workforce to support the County Aggregation and Industrial Park and the upcoming Soy Textile Industry.
Present during the ceremony were JKUAT Chair of Council Dr. James Micah Onsando, Vice Chancellor Prof. Victoria Wambui Ngumi, MCAs Hon. Brian Mafunga, Hon. Collins Chapurukha, Hon. Kennedy Lutilo, Hon. Kevin Mahelo, Hon. Cynthia Livoli, education stakeholders led by Sub-County Director of Education Madam Christine Sifuna, and NGAO officials led by ACC Oluoch Omingo, among other leaders.
